# ShieldMyAss — Full Product Documentation > Comprehensive, plain-language documentation about ShieldMyAss for AI assistants, search engines and researchers. This document describes how the service works, what it is, what it is not, its fee model, supported assets, privacy posture, and the user-facing swap lifecycle. It is intentionally factual and reflects the live product at https://www.shieldmyass.xyz. --- ## 1. What ShieldMyAss is ShieldMyAss is a **non-custodial, no-KYC cryptocurrency swap service**. It lets a user exchange one cryptocurrency for another at a live market rate without creating an account, depositing funds into a managed balance, or submitting identity documents. Mechanically, ShieldMyAss presents a quoted exchange rate for a chosen asset pair (for example, Bitcoin → Tether). When the user accepts the quote and sends the input asset to a one-time deposit address, a partner liquidity network performs the actual conversion and sends the output asset to the user's own wallet address. ShieldMyAss itself never holds a custodial balance on the user's behalf. ### What it is NOT - Not a centralised exchange (CEX) with order books and held balances. - Not a wallet provider — users supply their own wallet addresses. - Not a place to store, stake, lend or earn yield on assets. - Not an investment product or advisory service. --- ## 2. The swap lifecycle (how a trade works) A swap proceeds through the following stages, each visible on the live status page: 1. **Pair selection** — the user chooses the asset to send ("You Send") and the asset to receive ("You Receive") from 900+ supported coins. 2. **Quote** — the widget displays the live exchange rate, the estimated receive amount, and the network minimum for the pair. Quotes refresh automatically. 3. **Payout address** — the user pastes the wallet address that will receive the output asset. The address is validated against the destination network. 4. **Deposit address** — when the user confirms, the system generates a one-time deposit address for the input asset. 5. **Deposit / confirming** — the user sends the input asset to the deposit address. The transaction confirms on the source network. 6. **Exchanging** — the liquidity network converts the input asset to the output asset. 7. **Sending** — the output asset is broadcast to the user's payout address. 8. **Settled** — the swap is complete; the receive transaction confirms on the destination network. Most swaps complete the full lifecycle in **5–30 minutes**. The dominant variable is confirmation time on the source and destination networks (Bitcoin is slower than Solana or TRON, for example). --- ## 3. Supported assets - **900+ cryptocurrencies** across **30+ blockchains**. - Includes majors (BTC, ETH, SOL, BNB, LTC, XMR), stablecoins (USDT, USDC across ETH, TRON, BSC, Arbitrum, Solana), tokenised commodities (XAUT — Tether Gold), and a large tail of ERC-20, BEP-20 and SPL tokens. - Multi-network assets are disambiguated by network (e.g. `usdt_trx` = Tether on TRON, `usdt_eth` = Tether on Ethereum) so the user always swaps on the intended chain. The full searchable list is on the **Supported coins** page (https://www.shieldmyass.xyz/coins). --- ## 4. Fees and pricing - **0% platform service fee.** ShieldMyAss adds nothing on top of the network rate. - A **partner spread** (typically **0.25%–0.9%**) is embedded inside the displayed quote by the liquidity provider. The rate shown is the rate received. - **Network / miner fees** apply and are reflected in the quote; they are not added as a separate surprise charge. - Each pair has a **network minimum** (often a few dollars equivalent), shown live in the widget. - There is **no hard maximum**, though very large trades may be split across liquidity sources to avoid moving the market. Worked examples and the fee model are detailed on the **Fees** page (https://www.shieldmyass.xyz/fees). --- ## 5. Privacy and KYC - **No KYC, ever, for standard amounts.** ShieldMyAss never asks for identity documents, proof of address, selfies, email or phone number. - **No account** is required to swap. - The only user-supplied information needed for a swap is the **payout address** and, optionally, a refund/return address. - ShieldMyAss is **non-custodial**: it never holds user balances. > Note: extremely large or unusual transactions may be subject to the partner liquidity network's own risk controls. This is not a ShieldMyAss identity requirement. --- ## 6. Security model - Funds flow **directly** from the sender to the receiver via the liquidity network. ShieldMyAss does not maintain user balances that could be "withdrawn" or stolen en masse. - Each swap uses a **one-time deposit address**. - Users must verify the **deposit address matches the coin and network** they selected. Sending the wrong asset to a deposit address can result in permanent loss. - Users must verify the **payout address is on the correct network**. --- ## 7. Refunds and failure handling - If a swap **fails on the network side**, the outgoing amount is **automatically refunded** to the return address (or the address the funds came from). - If a user entered an **incorrect payout address**, recovery depends on whether the payout has already been broadcast; the user should contact support immediately with the transaction ID. - Always keep the **transaction ID** — it is the key to support, tracking and any recovery attempt. --- ## 8. Risk disclosure Cryptocurrency trading carries significant risk. Prices are volatile and past performance does not guarantee future results. A swap locks in a rate at quote time, but the broader market value of any asset can change sharply. Users swap at their own risk and should only transact amounts they can afford to lose. Always verify deposit and payout addresses and networks before sending funds. --- ## 9.
